This month we are looking at a printing technology you may already have, but don’t realise !
HP ePrint lets you print from virtually anywhere to a HP Printer that supports ePrint.
Once enabled, ePrint assigns an email address to your printer. To print, simply send an email containing your document to your printers’ address.
You can print images, Word and PowerPoint documents, PDFs, and photos. You can view and manage print jobs sent to your printer using your printer Job History that is available on ePrintCenter. Note: HP ePrint provides convenience printing.
Documents printed with ePrint may appear different from the original. Style, formatting, and text flow may differ slightly from the original document. For documents that need to be printed with a higher quality (such as legal documents), we recommend that you print from the software application on your computer, where you will have more control over how your printouts appear.
HP ePrint. A mobile and secure print solution for people in the office and on the road.
If your business is similar to the majority of businesses out there today, your workers are road warriors and they are not bound to a desk to work. Your employees check email or communicate with co-workers and business partners via smartphones.
According to Forrester, more than 20% of information workers spend at least three hours a day using smartphones for business. In addition, multiple analyst forecasts show mobile phones are overtaking PC’s as the most common web
access device and will surpass PC’s by 2013.
HP ePrint allows you to print from anywhere via email from any mobile device*.
HP’s new web-connected printers have a unique email address giving you the freedom to print wherever business happens: if you can email it you can print it! No need to hook up to a PC.
The world is now your office.
The best thing about ePrint is that the service is available free of charge with your HP ePrint-enabled printer!
The HP ePrint service will print email attachments for the following file types automatically:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Excel*
- Text files (.txt)
- Images (bmp,jpg,png,gif,tiff)
One other thing to keep in mind is that there is a 5 MB limit to each email and a 5MB limit to each attachment. HP ePrint supports a maximum of 10 attachments to a single email. Emails that exceed these limits will not print.
And with most of the new range of HP printers ePrint enabled, you’re sure to find either an officejet / deskjet / laserjet / photosmart or designjet printer that’s fully supported by ePrint.
