Delivery disruptions due to weather to NSW & QLD

January 30, 2013

Re: Delivery disruptions due to weather

On behalf of our freight services provider StarTrack, we wish to advise of the following service updates for the flood affected areas of Queensland and northern New South Wales.

All major highways between Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville are closed in several sections and we have been informed by Police and the Road Transport Authority that this is likely to be the case for the rest of the week.

This will result in no freight being able to move in to or out of Queensland by road during this time, resulting in an immediate severe shortage of trailers.

Therefore is it requested that every effort is made not to despatch freight into Queensland and northern New South Wales until further notice.

We recommend that any urgent freight to any flood affected areas be done via air freight services; however delivery may be limited by road closures. Please be mindful that as freight is moved from road to air, there may be some delays due to limited aircraft capacity.

Grafton has been evacuated this morning and therefore freight will be held at the Grafton depot and moved to higher ground.

Further updates on the situation will be published on our website www.startrack.com.au
