12/05/2021 – 7:40am – Multiple reports coming in from clients that their Microsoft Outlook on their PC is only showing the subject and who the email is from/to but is not showing the content of emails. However logging into https://portal.office.com or using outlook on mobile devices still works fine.
If you need to fix this ASAP, then running the rollback commands below will fix the problem, otherwise you should wait for the next scheduled Microsoft patch as per:
Microsoft has issued the following statement :
Current status: We’ve identified the underlying cause of impact and are applying a fix. This fix will reach all affected users incrementally over the course of the next four-to-five hours. Once users receive the fix, they will need to restart their email client to apply the fix. In some circumstances, users may need to restart their client a second time for the changes to take effect. We expect to complete this process and restore service for all affected users by May 12, 2021, at 3:00 AM UTC.
To fix the issue immediately please perform the following steps:
1 – Click on the start button in the bottom left corner of windows then type CMD then click on command prompt.
2 – Copy and paste each command below separately and press ENTER after each command.
cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun
officec2rclient.exe /update /user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462
